The Tangram workshop organized by Unigen at the "Dialogue" event, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Building Catalog, was one of the most enjoyable activities. While playing games, we all appreciated the inspiring and easy-to-use modular products from the Dickson® Mirage series. Their combination of colors, patterns, and textures provided great opportunities to design a unique atmosphere in various spaces. The figures we created at the end of the workshop demonstrated the advantages of the product. We were introduced to many ways to create different design variations. In this blog post, we will briefly explain what a tangram is and share our workshop experience.
Tangram
Tangram is a puzzle game that involves assembling different geometric shapes. Although it originated in Chinese culture, it gained popularity in the Western world during the 19th century and continues to be enjoyed worldwide today. The game is about combining seven geometric shapes according to specified rules to form various figures. These shapes typically include two large rectangles, a medium rectangle, two small rectangles, a triangle, and a square.
Playing tangram is a great way to develop intelligence and creativity. The game can be adjusted to various difficulty levels, making it enjoyable for both adults and children. Depending on the designer's creativity, unique and fascinating figures can be created. Animals, buildings, and vehicles are just a few examples of the many different objects that can be constructed.
Dickson® Mirage Series Carpet Tiles
When designing our workshop, we drew inspiration from nature, just like the Dickson® Mirage series. In this regard, we decided to create figures of a fox, a human, a whale, a swan, a giraffe, and a horse. The modular design of the product offers a variety of options for different shapes, making it an excellent choice for playing tangram.
Based on our experience, we found that applying Dickson®'s modular products was both easy and inspiring. As we played our game, we discovered the potential of the product. We also learned about the various ways to create different design variations. Using Dickson® products can help customize spaces, facilitate creative designs, and even determine the atmosphere and identity of a space on their own.
Varying Perspectives
The main goal of our workshop was to improve creativity and teamwork skills through a fun game. In addition, we aimed to generate new ideas, network with new people, and promote our product. We're pleased to have achieved our goal, as people from various sectors came together, formed new friendships, and had fun. Thanks to the potential of our product, we were able to enjoy a productive and enjoyable weekend activity. This interaction was very important to us because the enthusiasm and interest shown by the participants were motivating and inspiring for our next workshops.
