During the festival, the city’s historically significant buildings and architecturally notable spaces are opened to visitors—sometimes through special permissions—offering participants a unique experience.

The main aim of the Open House Architecture Festival is to bring architecture and urban culture to a wider audience, raise public awareness about the preservation of architectural heritage, and strengthen the connection between the city and its inhabitants. By opening the doors of buildings that hold an important place in the city’s memory, the festival makes visible the stories of spaces that are often passed by in daily life but rarely accessed internally.

The festival provides participants not only with a tour but also with opportunities for learning and inspiration. Architecture, design, and history enthusiasts gain new perspectives through the buildings they explore and have the chance to meet professionals from different disciplines and others interested in urban culture. In this way, Open House transforms the city from a space that is merely lived in to one that is meaningfully experienced.

Taking place from October 14–21, 2025, the festival features concept routes across different areas of Istanbul, and for the first time this year, İzmir and Ankara are also included in the program. Participants will have the opportunity to closely explore the architectural heritage of these cities, ranging from historic buildings to contemporary architectural examples.
